The carbohydrate matrix that forms the protective hydrogel. When mixed with water and xanthan gum, it creates a thick gel that physically encases the sodium bicarbonate — slowing its contact with stomach acid and dramatically reducing GI distress. Also provides fast-acting carbs for pre-session fueling.

The active performance ingredient. At 0.27–0.3g per kg of body weight, it raises your blood's buffering capacity before exercise — allowing your muscles to sustain harder efforts for longer before acidity forces you to back off. Studied in sports science since the 1980s and endorsed by the ISSN.

Paired with maltodextrin at a 2:1 ratio to unlock dual-transporter carbohydrate absorption — the same mechanism used by Maurten and FLYCARB. This allows your gut to absorb more carbohydrate per hour than glucose alone, and produces a lower blood sugar spike compared to sucrose or glucose-only formulas.

Real freeze-dried mango, ground into a fine powder. Makes a high dose of bicarb gel genuinely palatable — you need to drink the full 60g in one go, and this makes that possible. Contributes a small amount of natural sugar (~0.8g) and trace fiber. No artificial flavoring, no extracts.

Food-grade silica — a tiny amount that keeps the dry powder blend free-flowing in the sachet. Without it, the mix can clump over time, especially in humid conditions. It's the same excipient used in Maurten's formula and is found in most dry supplement powders. Completely inert, passes through the body unchanged.
